Once lit, it first burned inside the stove but after a bit it came out those little holes on the edge of the stove. Normally three tent stakes are placed around the stove to sit a cup on so the flame is a bit away from the cup. This really works.

    • Just a little update on that little stove. Im Marys son that built this. That is 99% rubbing alcohol I used in that picture. I have since picked up some Denatured Alcohol from Home Depot. It burns much cleaner and you cant even see the flame unless its at night. Burns much better. Kinda hard to tell if the stove is actually lit. You just gotta hold your hand over the top and see if there is heat...lol

    • Ahhh, Houston, we have lift-off. We used to do something similar using sand soaked in lighter fluid and set fire, to keep warm camping when no wood was available. This is unique in that the size makes it so portable. You have chosed three very educational photos this week! Bravo!!
