Album Info:

Wood Storks are large water birds that stand between two and four feet tall and weight between seven to ten pounds. Some storks have a wing span of five and a half feet. They have no feathers on their head or neck. They cool themselves by urinating on their legs and letting the sun air dry them. Sorry about the date. I did not notice it was wrong so will fix it.

    • Interesting to know that wood storks use this cooling technique - so do vultures. Are wood storks fish eaters? They are beautiful. Carole

    • They have been working for years now on getting them to come back to Wisconsin. So sad to hear about the loss of so many of them this past early year in the storm that they had in FL.

    • My favorite of the three. I see Wood Storks often but never close enough to get a good shot. Since I have got my 2X I might just try again.
