Album Info:

Our for a drive just north of Whitehall, MI, we came upon this old abandoned barn. Over the years you could see where the woods was slowly creeping in to encompass it. Before long it will be just a pile of rubble. How sad!

    • I know, when I see homes like this I imagine generations of families and children happily living there. I try to imagine what they might be like. Wonderful photo Mary Ann.

    • Yes, it sure is old. But lovely. I don't think it's sad. I find it very interesting to see the way our structures return to nature when left unchecked. I'll bet that wood is just gorgeous too, so aged and worn. Thanks for sharing this!

    • Sad indeed, but these old barns seem to be a feature of the landscape out there. I have seen many albums in WS devoted to them. I really love this photo by the way - there is something about it that appeals to me but I can't put my finger on exactly what it is. Peter
