Album Info:

When first I saw this carving, its entire front was stained. It seemed rather flat and had no sense of 3-dimension. So I took a carver's tool at home and hand-chiseled the background, thus, removing the stained portions and exposing the raw timber underneath. I think this looks much better now. One problem though, I chiseled into the wood so deeply I punched a hole right through it. Do you notice the wood post standing right next to Jesus, a little below the top's left side? That black streak is really a hole, courtesy of yours truly. This wooden treasure has found its way to our home. It holds no holy or sacred value - just a simple story itching to be told.
