If you ever get a chance...see this movie. It was nominated for many Academy Awards. I believe it lost all to GONE WITH THE WIND. It was shot when the studio was low on funds...and they decided not to shoot it in color. This is one of the best representations of Marie Antoinette. The clothes are beautiful, and she never said " let them eat cake". It covers the revolution of the French Dynasty. Her wimpy husband, almost stole the show...and he became a lovable character, at the end. The suspence, the drama, the love, its just fantastic movie.
