(DSC03706) UP CFA (College of Fine Arts) STUDIO, 1981; Oil on Canvas; from the artist's collection [In 1979, Duddley Diaz entered the University of the Philippines Fine Arts as scholar of the Cultural Center of the Philippines and Folk Arts Theater. He won the Gold Medal for sculpture at the 35th Annual Art Competition of the Art Association of the Philippines in 1982. He also took courses in anthropology and folklore; and began exploring mythological themes in his works. In 1983, he finished his Bachelor of Arts degree in UP, and held his first one-man show entitled "Prusisyon" at the Vigan House, Nayong Pilipino in Manila.
