  • This is not a Goldfinch. it looks more like a female Chaffinch to me.

  • Hello videosystem. I am certainly not a pro of bird species so did some research. Although the female chaffinch looks very similar to this photo it is not a bird common to North America. The chaffinch range through Europe, across Asia to Afghanistan, the Mediterranean region, North Africa, Canary Islands and the Azores. My photo is of an American Goldfinch, female, in non-breeding plumage. Thank you for the note. I learned a few things myself by looking up this information tonight. Renee
