Featured Entertainment Member's Choice Digital Art 07 November 2007 ~ "I passed into a lucent still abode And saw as in a mirror crystalline An ancient Force ascending serpentine The unhasting spirals of the aeonic road. Earth was a cradle for the arriving god And man but a half-dark half-luminous sign Of the transition of the veiled Divine From Matter's sleep and the tormented load Of ignorant life and death to the Spirit's light. Mind liberated swam Light's ocean vast, And life escaped from its grey tortured line; I saw Matter illumining its parent Night. The soul could feel into infinity cast Timeless God-bliss the heart incarnadine." ~ Poetry by Sri Aurobindo

    • Sharon, Beautiful photo of the northern lights. The stars seem so bright compared with the stars in my sky (I live outside of NYC, USA and the lights from the surrounding areas dim the stars) Maxine

    • Such a wonderful picture. What an honour to be able to capture it. What an honour to be able to view your capture of it. I would love to be able to see the aurora borealis this clearly and beautifully. When we lived further north in Ontario we could see the colour show they put on but it was far off in the distance and nothing like this. this truly is God's artwork.

    • Hi Sharon, Great shot almost like a Xmas picture card. I once saw the 'Northern Lights' myself while in the Royal Navy up in 'Narvik' I wish to this day I had my camera then (I was only 16 at that time and not into that sort of thing) as I am older now (I hope wiser too LOL) I am now more into it and love photography. The colours that I saw that day/night, would have been great to share with webshots fans. The colours were Lilac, Blue, Green and Purple and it appeared as if there was a silloette of people marching across a hill top. Like I've said I wish then I had my camera what a shot that would have been. Thanks to you I can relive those memories. Cheers
