1953 Downtown Frayser, Tenn. Looking north on Highway 51, approaching the 4-way stop sign at 51 and Whitney. Next stop was Millington, TN 12 miles north. This was downtown Frayser business district. What you see here was all it was to it in 1949. Other than the new International Harvester Plant (left on Whitney), Frayser was mostly a farming community.The telephone prefix for those who could afford it, was Elmwood7. Postal Zone was Station 7, Frayser, Tenn.
