PJ'S ALLEY, a converted tire store in Guntersville, Alabama, was co-owned by PAT UPTON. Pat was in Rick's band from 1980 to 1984. He sang backup vocals on the PLAYING TO WIN album, IT HASN'T HAPPENED YET, and the later released BELIEVE WHAT YOU SAY singles. He was also the leader of the group THE SPIRAL STARECASE (MORE TODAY THAN YESTERDAY - 1969). Rick, and his band, performed at PJ's Alley on 12/28, 12/29, and 12/30, before leaving on their fatal flight to Dallas, Texas on 12/31/85.
