The photos of paintings that are taken through windows create interesting new images with their reflected scenes. “Golden Sunlit Ladder” is a wonderful study of light. In “Cat on Window Sill,” I would like to see a tighter shot of cat. The metallic frame around the image is distracting—I feel like I’m peering through a bank vault. “Paint Cans” is an eye-catching shot—perhaps because the paint can lids form a bright, cheerful palette. Back lighting is very effective in “Brown Leaves Against Purple Bldg.” as texture of leaves is enhanced. “Umbrella on Street” is a simple but very effective image. I like the contrast between neutral tone of concrete and rainbow of colors in umbrella. You captured a nice moment in “The Empire Still Stands” with the bird flying by Empire State Building. The photo serves as an effective post-9/11 symbol of America’s patriotism and determination not to be deterred by terrorism.
