Album Description:

    • Mary Ann, The Rose Parade has nothing on this parade. As usual, your album is filled with excellent photos and informative labels. Your photos bring back fond memories of why I enjoyed living in the Philippines. Keep up the great work. Paul

    • Thank you for posting this album for me to see. Not quite the same as being there, but it is probably the closest I will ever get to it. I am enjoying all of your pictures of the local culture. Linda In NC, USA

    • The Panagbenga started as a flower-inspired, flower-themed festival 13 years ago to boost the tourism industry every February, considered then to be a lull month between the Christmas celebration and the busy, crowded Holy Week and summer vacation rush. The celebrations are held for over a month and peak periods are the weekends. As in previous years, this year's Panagbenga 2008 showcased two parades: first (on Feb 23, Sat.) was the grand parade of street dancing where schools competed on best marching band and street dancing performance. Second (on Feb 24, Sun.) was the parade of floats where different groups & commercial establishments showed off their floats decorated with thousands of flowers.

    • Mary Ann, This is a wonderful album! What a gift you have for an artist's eye! A fraternity brod invited me to the 100 islands in Alaminos the same weekend the Penagbenga flower festival was happening in Baguio. He is the mayor there and I got to witness the sunrise and sunset of the 100 islands. Your album reminds me of the Rose Parade in Pasadena. Thanks for sharing. Regards, Ding
