  • Hello Craig...your expertise in photography is amazing! What a great album of B & W. I take it that you shot in color and then processed images in B & W? What ever you did made these photos pop with color on a different level! Great job! Deb

  • Well Craig, it looks-like you have pretty well mastered this type format. There is an aspect of this type exposure that expresses more about scenes and places than color could ever capture. It highlights characteristics that express the ambiance of a place better than color. My explanation probably only makes sense to (me)! :) But, this format infrared etc. definitely works for my way of seeing things! So, I really enjoyed (experiencing) these. They are the types of subjects and landscapes I have seen and appreciate. You're fortunate to be able to make the magic work with your camera. Don't need to thank me (again)! THANK YOU for your effeorts and your Art Exhibit of these areas you covered! - Gary

  • You must be kidding about my photos and the sophysticated equipment, right? All photos that I have so far in all my albums are taken with a point-and-shoot camera (Fuji FinePix S7000). I did choose the option of shooting in chroma mode which I guess causes the camera to produce more saturated colors than if used it in standard mode. However, the pictures in my last 2 albums, (those of wave/sunset/sky/ocean ones)are post edited. When I edit them (in PaintShop Pro 8, I don't know how to use Photoshop yet, but I will soon), I use a feature called "gamma correction" and I usually darken the pictures and if a certain tint predominates in the original picture, I just accentuate that with the same feature. I hardly use any other features of the program, I never sharpen or add contrast since the camera already does that enough. On the pictures that have foam or translucent waves, I select the area to exclude it from darkening. If you want to ask me any questions on any particular picture or "technique" you can e-mail me directly and I'll be glad to share that information with you. My e-mail address is on my profile page. Oh, by the way, I just got a Canon 5D and hopefully I can finally produce better quality pictures in terms of resolution, etc. Thanks so much for your comment and sorry for the dely in my answer, my guestbook entries don't hit my inbox for some reason they are filtered out and I just found your comment by accident.
