  • I need to make one thing clear, I meant about being (living) upstairs. Not the money counting...He would give it all away!

  • You know I thought the same thing after touring Graceland about 10 years ago! Guess they still don't let you go up there...My Mother is a huge Elvis fan and we took her and that was the best vacation. 2 years ago we went to his child hood home. Congratulations on your POTD in entertainment! Blessings, Karen

  • Actually, Elvis was never about money. He'd grown up in such stark poverty, first in Tupelo, MS, then north Memphis (Humes High School was in a pretty rough part of town), and knew how to enjoy life without a lot of possessions; throughout his career he gave away money, cars, and jewelry to those he considered his friends, and sometimes to utter strangers, if they happened to appeal to his sense of charity. He was a hell of a nice guy. Fred

  • thank you, thank you very much...:D, Gala, wow must have been eerie being in the "king's" home??? Interesting stuff! I especially loved the old cars and pics of the grounds too (where were the horses?)..sorry I am so late - I tore my rotator cuff and needless to say my responses are crawling...the old lady from houston, marita

  • I've always heard about Graceland, I didn't know it was like that! It sure has a lot of memorabilia on Elvis and his life. Thanks for the views.
