  • Thanks for visiting Fine Art~ Digital Christine. Nice to have some kind comments by a fellow artist. I am a graphic artist with many years of experience in lithography and fine art who recently discovered digital art and am having a ball with it. 'Yes' and 'no' to your question. 'Painting' emplies that paint was employed. In fact I do not often use paint any more. However items 26, 29, 30 are indeed paintings. I did items 29 and 30 more than 20 years ago in oil. The originals are quite large. My parents have them hanging on their walls at home. Recently I photographed them and did some digital editing/remastering on Pink Lady (which is after a DaVinci Sketch)to make her face more to my liking now and affected a digital color adjustment on the ship. Otherwise they are as they were. Other "paintings" in the album were originally photos or more often photomontages and imaginative graphics, which I worked on using Adobe Photoshop with plugins to make them look as though they were hand-painted. Most are so far now from any original raw photo that in some cases you would never guess the origin if you were to see them together. Pytheras and Blind Baker both involved many hours of laborous hand work with a cordless mouse (because I am hard to please)! Others were easier, less labor intensive, for instance Khersonese w Dove was only 3-4 hours in the making. Others sat on my computer for years and I just worked on them periodically, so I have no idea how long they really took. Hope this answers your question.
